A Blackburnian Warbler watches from its rectangular frame as seven others—including the Black-and-white Warbler—take to the sky. Like many nocturnal migrants, warblers touch down in early hours to rest and refuel, often taking off again shortly afterwards in search of more suitable habitat. This phenomenon is called morning flight.
